Sweeney and Tims agree to rematch on October Dublin TV show

The grudge match is on it seems.

According to the boxing rumour mill, Ian Tims and Michael Sweeney have agreed to trade leather on an MGM Boxnation broadcast show in October.

There has been talk of a rematch between the cruiserweight pair since they battled it out for the Irish Title in City West back in 2011 – a clash which Tims won. Indeed they agreed to get it on again ahead of the November 2014 3Arena show, before injury ruled Mayo man Sweeney out.

With both suffering injuries of late, the fight won’t be as eagerly as anticipated as if it had of happened earlier.

However, it will be a derby with bite and the build up will be entertaining to say the least.

The Sweeney Tims clash might not be the only all Irish clash on MGM’s second Dublin show- as it looks like Dean Byrne and Peter McDonagh will compete in a welterweight dust up.
