Strong Irish team depart for Russian hosted World Junior Champs
Team Ireland’s 13-strong squad departed for the 10th AIBA World Junior Men’s Championships in St Petersburg, Russia on Wednesday.
The 2015 AIBA World Junior Championships, formerly the World Cadet Championships, begin on September 4th.
Irish boxing has claimed two gold medals at this level over the last six years, courtesy of Joe Wardand Willie Donoghue.
“The Irish squad have had an excellent training camp and are looking forward to getting the World JUnior Championships underway in Russia,” said Irish coach Billy McClean.
