Donegal’s Shaun McShane lost out in his Scottish light welterweight title challenge in Motherwell tonight.

The Glasgow-based Ulsterman was defeated on points by champion Eddie Doyle.

Topping a Prospect Boxing dinner show at the AlonA Hotel. the clash was a rematch of the pair’s first title fight earlier this year which was controversially won on the cards by Doyle.

However, there would be no revenge for the Rosses boxer who lost out on the referee’s scorecard after a competitive ten rounds, a decision he accepts.

The loss sees McShane move back to having a 50/50 record of 4(0)-4(0)-1, while defending champion Doyle improves to 18(3)-3(2)
