Second Coming Coundown: Declan ‘Pretty Boy’ Geraghty
MGM return to Ireland this weekend and, ahead of the massive ‘Second Coming’ show at the National Stadium, irish-boxing.com is profiling all the Irish fighters who will be in action.
Today is the turn of one of Ireland’s most stylish boxers – Declan ‘Pretty Boy’ Geraghty [9(2)-1(0)].
The silky skilled Dubliner was one of MGM’s first signings, and is developing into a classy pro.
The former elite amateur, a 2009 EU bronze medalist, has served his professional apprenticeship and, with his troublesome hand injuries put to bed, is now looking to move up through the ranks as he moves down to super featherweight.
One of Ireland’s busiest pros, the 25 year old is 3-0 in 2015 and has fully recovered from his sole loss in the pro game – his 2014 BUI Fight of the Year with Jono Carroll which proved that he can fight as well as box
On Saturday Geraghty faces Spanish-based Nicaraguan banana-skin Reynaldo Cajina [14(10)-28(6)-5], who last week held 16-0 Scottish pro Michael Robinson to a draw
