Scott Quigg ranks the featherweight champions
Scott Quigg ranks Carl Frampton as the second-best of the four current featherweight World champions.
The Jackal won the WBA title during the Summer in a Fight of the Year contender with three-weight champ Leo Santa Cruz, and Quigg intends to move up to 126lbs himself in his next fight.
The Matchroom boxer was ringside at the Barclays Centre that night in New York on a self-described scouting mission as he continues to push for a rematch of their super bantamweight unification in February in which the Belfast man was victorious.
The Bury boxer, who scored Frampton the winner on the night, but on second viewing had the fight a draw, feels WBC champ Gary Russell Jr is the #1 man in the division
Speaking in an in-depth interview with IFL TV, Quigg outlined how “I think Gary Russell Jr is the best featherweight out there at the minute.
Giving his rankings, Quigg listed “Gary Russell, Frampton, and then I’d go Selby, then Valdez.”
Noting the competitiveness of the division, which he will join in Manchester on November 26th, Quigg added that “then you’ve got Jesus Cuellar, he’s now training with Roach, you’ve got Abner Mares still knocking about.”
“It’s a packed division where there’s some very very good fights out there and ones I want to be involved in.”
