Rumours suggesting Pagara could be Frampton’s next foe

UNDEFEATED Alberto Pagara is according to some rumours close to securing a Belfast summer showdown with IBF super bantamweight World champion Carl Frampton.

There is talk of Pagara, who has won all of his 23 of his pro bouts, versus ‘The Jackal’ in Belfast this Summer.

‘Prince Albert’s’ name has entered the rumour mill after it was revealed the eagerly anticipated bout with Scott Quigg wasn’t going to materialise. There is nothing concrete to suggest the talented Belfast fighter will face Pagara, but considering unification clashes with Gullerimo Rigondeaux or Leo Santa Cruz don’t look likely for the summer, ‘The Jackal’ will have to defend against one of the IBF top 15.

Former Pound for Pound star Nonito Donaire is currently ranked 11 on the list and would seem the ideal choice. He is a world wide name and gives Frampton the opportunity to further raise his profile Stateside.
