Paddy Gallagher: People will see improvements on August 1st

Belfast welterweight Paddy Gallagher will face a familiar foe this weekend at the Féile an Phobail in the Falls Park.

The 26 year old fights William Warburton in a six rounder at the outdoor venue. Gallagher, who outpointed the same Englishman (40-37) on his professional debut in 2012, is hoping to show the improvements he has made since moving to new trainer John Breen.

..

Gallagher predicts that, on Saturday, people will be telling him that “You look far better.” The 2010 Commonwealth gold medal winner is aiming “to win all six rounds.”

While some would see the journeyman as an indifferent opponent for one’s tenth professional fight, the Pat-Man believes that “I’m on a different phase of my career now,” and that Warburton is a barometer to show this.
