O’Sullivan: Eubank and his team know I want to fight so if it doesn’t happen we know he is a coward

CHRIS Eubank Jr and his team are aware Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan is willing to fight the English prospect in Liverpool in October.

So if the clash doesn’t transpire it proves the son of British boxing legend Chris Eubank is a coward who is full of talk, says Cork man O’Sullivan.

Eubank Jr expressed a desire to go through ‘bums’ like ‘Spike’ after his most recent stoppage win, but the Cork middleweight fears the puncher he has been calling out for a year doesn’t really want to trade leather.

Indeed, the former Irish champion, who saw a fight with Dublin rival Anthony Fitzgerald fall with through with the Macklin card, believes Eubank Jr is just paying lip service to the possible bout.

However the fighter, whose sole reverse comes against a Billy Joe Saunders, a puncher Eubank Jr seems to be on a collision course with claims the undefeated prospect will be shown up as coward if the fight isn’t made, as his team have got in touch and revealed their willingness to trade leather.

“My team has been in touch with Frank Warren’s matchmaker and he has made Team Eubank aware I am ready to fight. Eubank Jr has been on my hit list for a while now, but he ignored me when I wanted to fight him. He then offers me a fight when he knew I had signed to fight Fitzgerald.

“There are no excuses now, if he doesn’t fight me everyone will know he is a coward and that he if full of talk.”

“I have other options, but Eubank Jr is the fight I want. I just hope I am wrong about him and that he is true to his word and agrees to fight me.”
