O’Kane training at Big Bear alongside big punching Golovkin ahead of biggest fight of his life
Eamonn ‘King’ Kane is training alongside the king of the middleweight division Gennady Golovkin ahead of his World title eliminator with Tureano Johnson.
The Derry fighter has relocated to outer LA as the venue where ‘GGG’ prepares for his fights and is confident the change of scenery will help him secure an IBF World title shot.
Both O’Kane and ‘GGG’ are in action at the Maddison Square Garden on October 10, WBA and WBC title holder Golovkin in a World title fight with IBF champ David Lemieux and O’Kane in an IBF eliminator with Johnson.
The former Prizefighter winner is mid camp and is content with how things have gone to date.
“Everything is going really well. Iâm really looking forward to it. Iâm over here in Big Bear gym just outside LA, up in the sticks, and itâs a great experience. Iâm here with George Groves who is getting ready for his world title so it really is the home of champions. The heat and the high altitude. Thereâs no distractions,” O’Kane told the Derry Journal.
âItâs the biggest fight of my life,â he continued. âWeâre making sure everythingâs right as far as training, weight and my conditioning is concerned, so weâre ahead of the game.â
