Carl Frampton lost his WBA featherweight title last night in Las Vegas by the finest of margins.
‘The Jackal’ dropped a majority decision in his rematch with Leo Santa Cruz at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.
The scorecards read 114:114, 115:113, 115:113 in favour of Santa Cruz and, despite the closeness, there was little objection – even from Team Frampton themselves who agreed that the Mexican-American deserved the nod.
Seven of the twelve rounds were unanimously agreed upon by the judges
