Nonito Donaire would like Frampton-Santa Cruz winner
Four-weight World champion Nonito Donaire [37(24)-3(1)] would like a shot at the winner of the WBA featherweight title clash between Leo Santa Cruz and Carl Frampton this Saturday.
The Filipino Flash is the current WBO super bantamweight champ, but would take the step back up to 126lbs, where he once held the belt that Frampton and Santa Cruz are contesting, for a potential match-up.
Donaire told IFL TV that “I’m all about fighting everybody out there.”
“Whoever it is”
“You’ve seen it time and time and time again, I fight whoever is put in front of me.”
“Make it happen.”
In terms of who the winner of the New York-hosted bout will be, Donaire is like many in the sport who can’t separate the pair, and explained that “I give that one a fifty-fifty.”
“Both of them can move, in a similar fashion, but not overly fast.”
“Both of them can punch, but not overly strong.”
“It’s going to be a brawl, I think it’s going to be an exciting fight.”
