‘Night-Night Chris’ – Spike promises to put Eubank Jr to sleep
Tyson Fury has this week been reading heavyweight World champion Wladimir Klitschko bedtime stories, but Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan has a different sleep-inducing plans for his upcoming opponent.
The Cork middleweight has promised to put Chris Eubank Jr to sleep live on Sky Sports PPV with raw power.
The former Irish middleweight champion has won all of his last five fights within three rounds and is confident he can keep the KO streak going on the undercard of Anthony Joshua versus Dillian White’s clash at the O2 Arena in London.
Eubank Jr has yet to appear hurt in any of his 21 fights to date – although Billy Joe Saunders does feel he hurt him early in their bout – but Spike always maintains that no one packs a punch like him.
“Defensively, I’ve seen Chris get hit numerous times. In every one of his fights, he gets hit and once he gets hit by me it will be a whole different story. He’s never been in with someone who punches like me and with the small gloves on, he’s going to sleep,” Spike told Sky Sports.
“He’s over-hyped. He’s a good fighter. I’d be stupid to think he wasn’t but he’s not a great fighter. I’m a great fighter and I will knock him out.”
