Paddy Murphy advanced his professional record to 3-0 (1KO) with a unanimous four round points victory over Kurt Finlayson in Brisbane on Friday last.
The former Sacred Heart, Newry star will now focus on a proposed tilt at the Queensland welterweight title against Brett John Smith on November 26.
Speaking to the Reporter, Murphy said that he was happy with his performance against the Muay Thai veteran.
“I won a unanimous decision 40-36, 40-36, 40-37,” he said. “I was happy enough with my performance but still a lot of room for improvement. I kept to the game plan and jabbed well on the outside. It’s great to get another win under my belt and I’m looking forward to my first title chance next month.”
