Irelands only professional female boxer Christina Mc Mahon will challenge for WBC International bantamweight title next week.
The undefeated Monaghan native and former kick boxing World champ travels to Berlin to fight Aniya Seki of Japan.
Seki is an experienced and busy fighter and has collected the WBC silver super flyweight title en route to a 26-3-2 record.
McMahon goes into the bout undefeated with six wins, but has the disadvantage of been out of the ring since 2013. The popular and certainly gutsy operator came close to securing a World title shot last year, but a clash with Suzi Ramadan fell through.
‘Lightning’ will hope to strike while the iron his hot and couldn’t turn down the chance to put herself in world title contention, despite the late notice.
