Connor Coyle claims Vegas headline win

Connor Coyle hit the 10-0 landmark and headlined a bill in Las Vegas under the watchful eye of Roy Jones Jr.

The Derry middleweight has signed with the All-Time Great and made his debut under the RJJ banner in the main event of a bill at the Sam’s Town Hotel and Casino in Sin City.

Having fought just once in 2018, it was a second fight in two months for Coyle here who took on Robert Burwell over eight rounds and claimed a unanimous decision win live on UFC Fight Pass.

Like in his previous fight versus Travis Scott, ‘The Kid’ had his opponent down early, dropping Burwell in the opening round.

The gritty American would come back into it as the fight wore on but Coyle was too classy, registering three 77-74 scorelines to move to 10(3)-0.

The 28-year-old Foylesider is making waves Stateside and will be looking to move to ten-round level soon.
