Victory for McComb sends him into European Games quarters

Belfast lightweight Sean McComb has made it into the quarter finals of the inaugural European Games and is now just one fight away from guaranteeing himself a bronze medal.

The 22 year old southpaw won his Last 16 bout this afternoon against Italy’s Donato Cosneza via unanimous decision (30-27 x3).

The Holy Trinity BC man is in Baku aiming to win his first major international medal and if he keeps up his scintillating form he wont be denied.

McComb will now face Yasin Yilmaz of Turkey in the quarter finals on Tuesday at 10:15 Irish time
