Matchroom fight falls through for Dylan Moran
Dylan Moran‘s dream U.S. debut this weekend has fallen through.
The Waterford welterweight signed up with noted American promoter Joe DeGuardia and Star Boxing last month and looked set to box live on DAZN as part of the Matchroom USA card at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Verona, New York, this Saturday [March 9th] night.

Alas, this appearance, along with a number of small undercard fights, has been scrapped due to timing constraints imposed by the venue.
The card remains headlined by world title double-header starring Dmitry Bivol and Maurice Hooker defending their WBA light heavyweight and WBO light welterweight belts against Joe Smith and Mikkel LesPierre respectively.
The surviving undercard features Callum Johnson v Seanie Monaghan, Sergey Kuzmin v Joey Dawejko, Yamaguchi Falcao, Junior Younan, Israil Madrimov, and a debut for Otha Jones III.
Promoter Star and management Assassin have pledged to secure a U.S. fight date as soon as possible for ‘The Real Deal’, with an outing in Atlantic City next month being mooted.
In the more immediate future, Moran [9(5)-0] will again fight live on TG4 at the end of this month.
The Kilmacthomas prospect is part of the ‘Clash of the Titans’ card at the National Stadium on Saturday March 30th where he faces his toughest test as a pro to date, going up against awkward former EU champion Gyorgi Mizsei Jr over eight rouns.
This will be Moran’s second fight of 2019 having racked up a four-round win over tough Nicaraguan Oscar Amador in London at the start of the year.
