Lynn Harvey demolishes Draxler in 37 seconds

Lynn Harvey got back to winning ways in devastating fashion tonight in Belfast.

Boxing on the MHD Promotions ‘Inquisition’ dinner show at the Europa Hotel, the Dubliner gobbled up Agnes Draxler, scoring a big knockout inside one minute.

In Harvey’s previous fight back in November she had been outsized and outmuscled by Mary Romero over six rounds at the National Stadium.

This time round however the roles were reversed, and ‘The Hunter,’ who dropped down in weight to light fly, was notably bigger than her 21 year old Hungarian opponent.

Harvey came out like a steam train, tearing into Draxler from the off and, after a sustained flurry, the Magyar went down from a big uppercut. With Draxler rising unsteadily to her feet, referee Hugh Russell Jr waved the bout off after 37 seconds.

The confidence-boosting win sees 35 year old Harvey improve her record to 2(2)-1(0), while the shell-shocked Draxler drops to 9(1)-14(9).

Harvey will now head straight back to training for a second fight of the month, which is scheduled to take place on the Red Corner Promotions show on Saturday February 25th at the National Stadium. The named of the card, ‘Unfinished Business,’ could not be more apt, as it is a return to the venue where she suffered the Romero loss – and going by tonight, Harvey is looking lean, mean, and hungry.
