Lindsay loses out in British title fight

MARTIN Lindsay failed in his attempt to reclaim the British title in Leeds on Wednesday night.

The popular Belfast fighter was out gunned by an impressive Josh Warrington and lost on a unanimous points decision, with the judges scoring the bout 119-110.

Lindsay had only one six rounder in sixteen months prior to Wednesday’s fight and was unable to make an impact against Warrington’s superior work-rate.

Warrington seemed to hurt the 32 year old in the later rounds, but the ‘Mac Man’ battled on bravely till the end. Lindsay, who went into the fight with just three rounds
in 16 months in the bank, did pose some questions of the Leeds fighter, but questions he answered impressively. Warrington was just too busy and strong for the Belfast favourite.

Lindsay had addmitted their was a last chance saloon feel to Wednesday’s clash and their are suggestions he might now hang up his gloves.
