Let’s Go! World title fight secured for Michael Conlan?

Michael Conlan sparked world title shot talk last night.

The Top Rank fighter’s simple and brief ‘lets go’ tweet saw rumours a world title shot has been secured begin to spread within boxing circles.

It’s understood Conlan, who won World amateur gold this month five years ago, will trade leather in England on December 5th.

Isaac Dogboe and Irish upsetter Ionut Baluta are the two names being spoke the loudest with regards that fight.

The most popular narrative has Conlan fighting either the Ghanaian or the Romanian before having a massive world title fight night on St Patrick’s Day in New York.

However, in liking a tweet from a fan suggesting the news related to this year, talk of a December 5 tgworld title tilt increased.

Nothing is confirmed yet and March still seems the more likely.

Conlan has been installed as #2 with the WBO.

Angelo Leo won that governing bodies version of the world title, a belt Emanuel Navarrete left vacant, but has business on the horizon.

Stephen Fulton is the mandatory challenger and is next in line. The American was to challenge Leo for the vacant strap, but tested positive for covid in the build up. Conlan has previously expressed confidence he would secure a shot at the winner.

Having surveyed the 122lbs world title landscape coach Adam Booth is confident his charge has the ability to defeat all the champions – and did suggest they were not just limited to a WBO tilt. In that regard another champion may have agreed to fight Conlan in the coming weeks.
