Lee expresses unification desire and targets GGG bout

WBO World Middleweight Champion Andy Lee has opened the door for a potential unification fight with IBF and the Super WBA Middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.

ā€œIf and when I beat Billy Joe Saunders, I want to fight one of the other Champions,ā€ revealed Lee.

Speaking with Charlie Webster on our special ā€˜BoxNation Meets Andy Leeā€™ episode, the reigning WBO Champion admitted he wants to collect more gold in 2016.

ā€œWhether it be Canelo, Golovkin or Jacobs. Iā€™ve not set my mind on anyone but I want to unify the belts.ā€

ā€œObviously Golovkin is number one, itā€™s a hard fight for anyone but I fancy my chances. I punch as hard as anyone.ā€

The pair almost met in April, but an unfortunate death in Golovkinā€™s family halted talks.

ā€œIf thereā€™s anyone who would give him a fight in the division, itā€™s me. People go in there and are beaten before the bell rings, Iā€™m not afraid.ā€

With Golovkinā€™s KO streak continuing fight by fight, Lee was under no illusions the fight may not go the distance.

ā€œIf we go in there, itā€™s going to be a war. I would train for a six round fight and make it a shootout.ā€
