Last-minute addition to MGM November 7th show in Dublin
There has been a last-minute addition to the MGM-promoted ‘Second Coming’ show in the National Stadium on Novmber 7th. Dublin lightweight Jamie Kavanagh [19(9)-1(1)-1] will fight in his home town for the first time in his professional career on the Jamie Conlan-headlined show.
Kavanagh, formerly of Golden Boy Promotions, has recently relocated back home and has signed up with the Marbella outfit. Still only 25, ‘The Nuisance’ has come up through the unforgiving American scene and now feels well-equipped to start on the title-trail on this side of the Atlantic.
This assault began at the weekend in London with a six round points win over Nicaraguan Reynaldo Mora on the undercard of Frank Buglioni-Fedor Chudinov. Kavanagh, initially mooted as the headliner of next month’s card, will be sure to bring a large crowd to his long-awaited homecoming.
The revised final card in full is:
Super flyweight – Jamie Conlan – Headliner
Welterweight – Peter McDonagh-Dean Byrne – BUI Irish Title
Cruiserweight – Michael Sweeney-Ian Tims – Celtic Nations Title
Super featherweight – Declan Geraghty
Lightweight – Jamie Kavanagh
Heavyweight – Sean Turner
Super featherweight – Ciaran McVarnock
Lightweight – Joe Fitzpatrick
Cruiserweight – David Maguire
Super middleweight – Ciaran Mullen
‘Second Coming’ will be shown exclusively live on Boxnation TV (Sky channel 437).
