Knockout debut for Chris Blaney

Navan super middleweight Chris Blaney had an explosive professional debut tonight at the National Stadium in Dublin.

The former amateur star made light work of Czech puncher David Bauza on the FS Promotions/Hatton Promotion ‘The Future’ card.

Headlining the return of boxing to Dublin city, Blaney showed no signs of feeling any pressure and confidently dispatched the Central European in the second round.

‘The Ginja Ninja’ had a considered start, throwing single shots, and showing good movement to avoid nearly everything that was thrown back in return.

Ricky Hatton-trained Royal stepped it up a notch and opened up in the second, forcing his man down heavily twice which led the Czech corner to throw in the towel.

Blaney’s brand new professional record reads 1(1)-0, while Bauza’s ledger now stands at 1(0)-2(1)-2.
