Joyce Cruises to victory in Kazakhstan

David Oliver Joyce cruised to a unanimous decision over Artur Brill in a six-round AIBA Pro Boxing (APB) bout in Kazakhstan today.

The three-time European Union Elite champ earned a comprehensive 60-53,60-53,59-55 verdict over the German in Central Asia.

Two of the judges marked the third and four rounds 10-8 to the Irishman.

Joyce, the last Irish boxer in action this year, has now won two and lost one in APB.

He’ll be out again next month, along with Joe Ward, in his fourth APB fight.

Twenty places for Rio 2016 are directly available for APB boxers.

Billy Walsh and John Conlan were working Joyce’s corner against Brill this afternoon.
