John Hutchinson to fight ex-British soldier

Donegal middleweight John Hutchinson [6(1)-2(0)] will fight an ex-British soldier next week in Birmingham.

‘The Buncrana Banger’ appears on the MGM Birmingham ‘First of Many’ show at the Tudor Grange Leisure Centre, Solihull on Saturday July 9th, and will face Sonny Whiting.

Whiting [2(1)-8(2)] hails from Kent and was the debut opponent for Indian star Vijender Singh.

The Kent boxer’s place on the show is dependent on him coming through his fight tonight with Sammy Holloway in Grays unscathed.

Hutchinson will be joined on the card next week by Dublin heavyweight Sean Turner as well as ‘Kid Shamrock’ JJ Metcalf, and Dublin-Brummie headliner Michael Rooney.
