Jason Quigley becomes World title eligible after just 11 fights

Jason Quigley’s rise has continued its rapid ascent today and the Donegal man hasn’t even thrown a punch.

The American based former World Amateur Championship silver medal winner has today been confirmed as a WBA Top 15 ranked fighter.

Quigley enters the ladder at #14, one spot below fellow Irishman Gary O’Sullivan, although the Cork man intends to move down in weight in the near future.

The ranking means Quigley is now technically eligible to challenge for a World middleweight title within that division.

Granted Quigley [11(9)-0] will look to bank more experience before even considering a shot at the much avoided Gennady Golovkin or even the lightly-regarded WBA ‘regular’ champ Danny Jacobs, but the move proves that the Golden Boy puncher is moving along the right path.

The organisation’s rankings in full are as follows:
Champion – Gennady Golovkin
‘regular champion’ – Danny Jacobs
1. Alfonso Blanco
2. Chris Eubank Jr.
3. Dmitry Chudinov
4. Rob Brant
5. Andrew Hernandez
6. Tureano Johnson
7. Peter Quillin
8. Avtandil Khurtsidze
9. Ryota Murata
10. Adam Etches
11. John Ryder
12. Curtis Stevens
13. Gary O’Sullivan
14. Jason Quigley

15. Ievgen Khytrov
