James Tennyson planning stylish small hall exit
James Tennyson takes somewhat of a risk when he takes to the ring in Belfast this Saturday night.
‘Tenny’ is next line for Ryan Walsh’s British featherweight title and should challenge for the prestigious strap before March is done.
However, the fighter, who passed up an eliminator with Darren Traynor to allow the Scot challenge for the title last month, will squeeze in a bout at the Europa Hotel this weekend before the biggest fight of his career.
Most would forgive the former Irish champion for taking it easy against Antonio Horvatic, who granted is a foe ‘Tenny’ is expected to beat, this weekend to ensure he avoids injury or even worse surprise defeat, thus putting his British title shot in jeopardy.
However, the 22 year old is determined to put on a show and make a stylish exit from all things small hall.
“I’ve been preparing for this opportunity for 15 years and I am going to grab it with both hands,” said the #1 contender.
“The show in the Europa Hotel could be my last small hall show so I intend in giving my loyal fans a treat, before targeting Walsh’s British title.”
