Irish go to war in Oz on July 4

THE National Stadium will not be the only place a host of Irish fight talent go to work on July 4.

The aptly named Punch Bowl in Australia will also play host to a number of Irish propsects on American Independence Day.

While Jamie Conlan tops a Boxnation broadcast show in the home of amateur boxing TJ Doheny, Darragh Foley, Tony Senior and Gearoid Clancy will be trading leather Down Under.

World ranked PABA super bantamweight champion Doheny will be looking to extend his record to 12-0 when fights a scheduled eight rounder against Mongkolchai Lookmuangkanch.

Former Crumlin amateur Senior takes on a yet to be named opponent as he tests the waters at Welterweight.

Lightweight Foley will hope to continue his push toward a National title by registering a sixth straight victory when he fights Joebert Delos Reyes, while Clancy fights John Mill in his first eight round contest.
