Irish Canelo looking for KO on massive Khan card tonight

THE ‘Irish Canelo’ Noel Murphy is looking for a knock out victory on the massiveĀ Premier Boxing Champions Khan-Algieri undercard in Brooklyn tonight( Friday).

The Leesider Lefty trades leather for only the second time as a pro, but the Lou DiBella signed prospect, who tipped the scales at 144.6 lbs yesterday, is looking to impress against Mike Black on the high profile card.

Ā ā€œDefinitely, I hope to get the knockout,” the Cork man told the Register-Star

It doesn’t get much more exciting than a TV fight on a PBC card at theĀ the Barclays Center for a 20 year old fight novice, but Murphy wants to be calmness personified tonight.

Over exuberance, he claims had a negative affect on his pro debut and the southpaw is keen to ensure he can tap into his sizeable support, yet remain relaxed and focused on the job at hand.

ā€œI love having a crowd behind me. This fight, Iā€™m going to be more relaxed and not fight for the crowd as much,ā€ he said. ā€œIn my pro debut, the minute I heard the roar of the crowd, I wanted to go in and start swinging. This time, I am going to be more relaxed, take my time and hopefully get the knockout.ā€

The four round bout is scheduled to be the second fight of the night. The first bout begins at 6:15 p.m. and the televised portion of the event begins at 9 p.m. on Spike TV.
