Irish Boxing stars heap praise on McGregor
There is often friction between fans of the two fighting codes.
Boxing and UFC trade verbal blows arguing which is the champion of the combat sports.
However the Irish boxing fraternity rowed in behind their UFC cousins on Saturday night and there was nothing but praise for former Crumlin amateur boxer Conor McGregor after he became UFC featherweight World champion by stopping Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds.
Indeed, it wasn’t just fans, who heaped praise on ‘The Notorious’ stars of the Irish-boxing code were full of admiration and support for the UFC’s star man.
