Ireland to meet France in the National Stadium on Saturday
Ireland meet France in a Women’s Elite international at the National Stadium in Dublin on Saturday.
Les Bleus have included three National champions in their squad.
Ireland have included two Ulster flyweights, current Irish Elite champion Michaela Walsh and Ceire Smith, in a seven-strong team.
Irish Youth Olympian Christina Desmond, a World Youth silver medallist, boxes at middleweight along with Grainne Walsh.
Irish Elite champions Kelly Harrington, Dervla Duffy and Moira McElligot also line out for the Girls in Green.
Harrington is in against Amina Zidani, the present French Elite light-welter champion.
Zidani, Saray Ovrahmoune and Erika Guerrier, who face Michaela Walsh and Grainne Walsh Saturday, claimed Elite belts at the French Championships in Aubervilliers, Paris last month.
France have been training with Ireland and Lithuania, who are also in training camp with Ireland at the home of Irish boxing, for the last number of days.
Boxing begins at 7.30pm on Saturday night.
