Huge fight for Cummings on Frampton-Quigg undercard?

While he may be currently focused on the considerable challenge of Alfredo Meli, there is a potentially massive fight on the horizon for Conrad Cummings. The Coalisland middleweight [7(3)-0] faces Meli [11(3)-0] for the BBBoC Celtic title on Friday at the Waterfront Hall, but Eddie Hearn has big plans for the Tyrone fighter.

Speaking today at the opening leg of the Frampton-Quigg media tour, the Matchroom head honcho stated his intention to pit the Cyclone starlet against one of his stable.

When asked whether he planned to match his fighters with Carl Frampton’s team mates on the massive February 27th undercard, Hearn replied “I hope so. We’ve got four fights apiece, they’ve got some good fighters come through.”

Elaborating, the promoter explained that he “would love to make a Conrad Cummings-Brian Rose fight, a Conrad Cummings-John Ryder fight.”

Ryder is currently penciled in to face Prizefighter winner Tom Doran in the new year, while Brummie Brian Rose fights at the weekend in Manchester against Ruben Varon.

Both opponents would be massive tests for fledgling pro Cummings, however the ambitious Ulster man has never shirked from a challenge.
