KILDARE native Dennis Hogan picked up a his fifth pro title in Australia this morning with a split decision win over Dennis ‘Stone Cold’ Moxon.
The World ranked IBF middleweight punched his way in the light middleweight WBA top 15 claiming the inaugural WBA Oceanic light middleweight strap as he pushed his record to 19-0-1.
There was some controversy surrounding the decision, not because any in attendance thought Hogan had not done enough to win, but because one judge gave to Moxon by a massive seven round.
A bizarre score card read 116-113, 115-113 Hogan – 118-111 Moxon.
Regardless of the card Hogan’s arm was raised after the final bell and his team have suggested they will have big news regarding the next step in his career come Tuesday.
