Hearn adamant Frampton has to fight Avalos next

EDDIE Hearn is ready to start negotiations to make a bout between IBF champion Carl Frampton and mandatory for his belt Chris Avalos.

Hearn, who has previously said he hopped to make Carl Frampton Vs Scott Quigg in December, has teamed up with the Californian and revealed he will push for the mandated fight to happen.

Most surmised The Matchroom boss would pay Avalos step aside money in a bid to make the massive Frampton vs Quigg clash before the end of the year. Indeed, Quigg’s trainer Joe Gallagher claimed Cyclone Promotions were using the mandatory challenger as an excuse to put off the fight, but it seems Quigg’s promoter will leave them with no option other than to fight Avalos.

“Carl Frampton did a great job on Saturday night and now the IBF have made it clear that he must fight Chris Avalos and they won’t move on that. We had it with Kell Brook and Shaw Porter. Porter was given an exemption so he could fight Paulie Mallignagi and then the IBF ordered him to face Kell or be stripped and it is the same with Frampton. So, we’ll see how negotiations go and if we have to go to purse bids then we’ll bid strongly for the fight.”
