‘He made a disgraceful comment about my wife’ – Carl Frampton hits back at ‘gutless, sectarian, racist’ troll

Carl Frampton [27(15)-2(0)] has hit back at a twitter troll who made a ‘disgraceful comment’ about his wife.

So upset was ‘The Jackal’ that he offered to meet the troll to have a ‘chat’.

Not surprisingly his offer was declined.

Indeed the fighter himself wasn’t surprised to see the call out rebuffed stressing the offender was ‘gutless’.

The three weight world title hopeful and contender for Ireland’s greatest ever professional fighter took to twitter to explain why he followed the account.

Obviously the Belfast fighter attempted to keep things private initially and followed so he could send a private message.

When the offering of a meeting was turned down he went public tweeting : “Just to explain, I follow this guy because he made a disgraceful remark about my wife. I followed him to ask him did he want to meet and have a chat, which he declined because he’s a gutless, sectarian and racists rat.”

Frampton uses social media and the media in general well to keep in touch with fans and it helps his everyday ordinary man image.

His wife, Christine, also has a strong twitter presence and indeed a strong twitter game.

Indeed, some argue she is within the top 10 accounts to follow within the Irish boxing family.

It’s not the first time Frampton has hit out at sectarianism online the popular figure previously had a hilarious response for someone questioning the fact he wore an Antrim GAA jersey.

In terms of in the ring, Frampton has been told to be ready for a late July earlier August return.

It looks as if the former two weight world champion will trade leather on a BT Sports broadcast Frank Warren card, before looking to nail down a shot at Jamel Herring and his WBO super featherweight title.
