Hardwick and Monaghan win in America

by Jonny Stapleton

American based Irish fighters Seanie Monaghan and Thomas Hardwick extended their unbeaten records fittingly strolling to victory on a ‘BoardWalk Series’ card in New York last Saturday night.

Long Beach favourite, Monaghan bruised rather than danced his way to a unanimous points victory in the famous Roseland Ballroom to move his fight record to an not so dirty unblemished dozen.

The 30 year Irish light heavyweight title hopeful won a dominate eight round war over the brave Billy Bailey.

The fan favourite had his man down in the second and controlled the fight to win by a convincing 80-71, 80-71 and 79-72 score line.
Ireland’s very own ‘Hitman’ also hit the right notes on the Lou DiBella show. Heavyweight Thomas ‘The Hitman’ Hardwick won a four round decision over Richard Mason.

After another one sided but entertaining battle the Dubliner was awarded a shut out on all three judges score cards, 40-36.
