Francy Luzoho signs new pro deal

Boxing Ireland Promotions have added to their roster once more with the signing of Francy Luzoho.

The Dublin light welterweight has linked up with the team behind the popular ‘Celtic Clash’ series for what he describes as ‘Chapter 2’ of his pro career.

‘The Butcher Boy’ Luzoho enjoyed an incredible debut last October, starting off in a competitive fight and stopping 6-1 Englishman Sam Jones.

From there Luzoho went straight into a six-round all-Irish fight on the big Clash of the Titans card in March but would lose a points decision to Dubliner Martin Quinn – a result which certainly split opinion.

Since that defeat, the 24-year-old has made changes, switching from coach Steven O’Rourke to Jonathan O’Brien as well as working at the Colosseum Gym alongside Pete Taylor’s stable.

Now Luzoho joins Katelynn Phelan in making the move from the collapsed Assassin Promotions stable to Boxing Ireland.

This switch sees him become a stablemate of Quinn [3(1)-1(0)] and a future rematch seems inevitable.

The Boxing Ireland team includes the like of Irish champions Eric Donovan and Carl McDonald as well as Commonwealth Games silver medallist Joe Fitzpatrick.

Next on the agenda for the outfit is ‘Celtic Clash 9’ in the Autumn, with an announcement expected in the coming days and weeks.
