Floyd Mayweather v Conor McGregor – Official Scorecards

Some believed he wouldn’t land a punch, many felt he would lose every single round, but Conor McGregor [0-1(1)] exceeded the expectations of a lot of people last night.

The UFC champion made his pro boxing debut at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, taking on five-weight champ Floyd Mayweather.

McGregor was stopped standing in the tenth round in Sin City, but landed a notable number of punches.

Indeed, such was the slow start made by Mayweather, the busier McGregor took a number of rounds on the cards of scoring judges Dave Moretti, Burt Clements, and Guido Cavalleri.

With the American not throwing for the entire first minute and subsequently throwing just six punches, McGregor won the opening round on all three cards.

Moretti would then also give McGregor the second and third rounds. However the tide turned in the fight and Mayweather began to turn the screw down the stretch.

Aside from Moretti’s view on the second and third, ‘Money May’ claimed every other round.

After a dominant ninth round, both Moretti and Cavalleri scored the stanza 10-8 in favour of Mayweather despite their being no knockdown.

The cards at the time of the stoppage for the nine completed rounds were:
Dave Moretti – 87-83 Mayweather
Burt Clements – 89-82 Mayweather
Guido Cavalleri – 89-81 Mayweather
