Fight News – Next Stop Wembley for Katie Taylor
Katie Taylor [21(6)-0] will return to the ring for the first time since her historic fight with Amanda Serrano late next month.
According to reports, the Irish sporting sensation will next trade leather at Wembley Arena on October 29.
The undisputed lightweight world champion will defend her titles against a yet-to-be-confirmed opponent on a DAZN broadcast card.
Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn revealed he would stage a show in Britain on October 29 as a precursor to John Ryder’s fight with former Dennis Hogan and Spike O’Sullivan foe Jaime Munguia.
It’s understood Taylor will top a bill that may also include fights for Shannon Courtney and heavyweight Johnny Fisher.
No Smoke Boxing suggests official confirmation is said to be forthcoming.

Taylor had hoped to go straight into a rematch with Serrano, who she defeated in Madison Square Garden in April, and there were attempts to get the return made for Croke Park.
However, a homecoming has been shelved until next year and it now appears the Olympic gold medal winner fights in London next.
MMA names Cris Cyborg and Holly Holm have been mentioned as possible opponents, but Cyborg makes her boxing debut in three weeks’ time ruling her out, while ‘Preacher Daughter’ chatter has lessened.
Jessica McCaskill and Chantelle Cameron, two names also linked to the groundbreaking star are otherwise engaged, fighting each other in November ruling them out, while Serrano fights on the same card as Anthony Cacace later this month.
WBA super featherweight world champion Hyun Mi Choi has also been name-dropped recently but there remains no strong indication as to who the opponent may be.
A November date and a fight night in Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena were previously rumoured to host the 135lbs WBA, WBC, WBO and IBF world champions ring return but latest reports suggest it’s full steam ahead London.
Both Caoimhin Agyarko and Gary Cully, the Irish fighters signed to Matchroom will be hoping to appear on any Taylor bill.
