Dublin International Round Robin – Final Day Results

The curtain was this afternoon brought down on a massive long weekend of Elite boxing at the National Stadium in Dublin.

France, Russia, Germany, and Italy were in town for four days of boxing with host nation Ireland.

79 bouts were completed over the course of the competition, with 23 Irish boxers posting a combined 26 wins. Italy grabbed 23 wins, Russia 17, France 10 and Germany 3.

St Mary’s Boxer George Bates was the only Irish boxer in action today. The Tallaght lightweight was edged out on a split decision to Giuseppe Canonico of Italy.

Seven bouts were completed this morning and early afternoon to bring a close to the tournament.

Europe is building toward June’s European Elite Men’s Championships in Kharkiv, Ukraine which will act as the sole qualifier for the World Elite Championships in Hamburg, Germany in August/September.
