DiBella: Andy Lee will prove he can be a major light middleweight force on June 7
ANDY Lee will prove ‘more dangerous’ at light middleweight and will establish himself as a force at 154lbs come June 7, says promoter Lou DiBella.
Limerick’s Lee might be moving down a weight, but DiBella is confident the Irish pugilist will move up the rankings and into world title contention with a win over John Jackson.
The former middleweight world title challneger takes on the number 5 ranked Junior middleweight on the undercard of the massive Sergio Martinez Miguel Cotto undercard and having aclimatised to his new weight with an average display against Frank Horta, DiBella is confident the former Kronx fighter will be firing on all cylindars early next month
“At 154, Andy Lee is going to be more dangerous than ever,” said Lou DiBella. “John Jackson is a very tough and talented fighter, coming from a great family pedigree. That being said, I think that Andy Lee is going to shine in this fight and show the world that he is a true force in the junior middleweight division. I expect myself and Sampson to be enjoying a great victory together with Sergio in the main event, but I am very confident that he will be licking his wounds after Andy defeats Jackson.”
