Declan Geraghty dances his way to tenth pro win at ‘Second Coming’

Pretty Boy Declan Geraghty boxed beautiful tonight at the National Stadium at the MGM ‘Second Coming’ show. Fighting Nicaraguan banana skin Reynaldo Cajina, Geraghty put on a boxing clinic en-route to a comfortable points win.

The 25 year old former elite amateur began patiently, working well behind the jab and scoring with an eye-catching right hook counter to one of Cajina’s rare attacks.

The second stanza saw the Dubliner get in and out of range well – and throwing in an Ali shuffle for good measure.

Geraghty picked his punches well in the third, throwing lovely long single shots and hurting the Nicaraguan with a short right hook.

The Irish southpaw continued his patient work in the fourth against an increasingly frustrated Cajina who, despite swinging big shots, failed to connect with the elusive Geraghty.

The fifth saw Geraghty caught early with a silly shot but, testament to his growing maturity as a pro, he refused to get into a war and continued his good work.

Cajina came out like a bull in the final round but Geraghty, in his red shorts, was a more than capable matador and danced his way to the final bell.

There was no doubt when the final scorecard was read out with the Irishman winning every round for a clear 60-54 points win.

Geraghty [10(2)-1(0)] while the durable Cajina falls to 14(10)-29(6)-5.
