Collins: Keeler can ‘smash it up’ and win Prizefighter with three KO’s

LUKE Keeler will destroy all before him and smash his way to Prizefighter victory in Blackpool this Saturday night believes coach Pascal Collins.

It will be more hands of stone rather than ‘Cool Hand’ predicts Collins as he claims his charge can win the tournament via three knockouts.

Collins, who won’t be in Keelers corner as he will be with Stephen Ormond in Blackpool, is aware Prizefighter is a tournament were things generally have to fall your way for you to win the €40,000 cheque, but he believes Keeler can use his natural power to ensure his opponents fall.

He does warn his charge against trying to rely solely on power and looking for knockout blows, but is adamant if the Ballyfermot puncher is focused he will win.

“There is no pressure on Luke. To win Prizefighter you have to win three fights and beat three fighters it certainly isn’t a given. In saying that, however, If Luke is focused and produces what he is capable of he will smash it up,” Collins told Irish-boxing.com.

“He has had some great sparring with top fighters like Stephen Ormond, Frank Buglioni and Gary O’Sullivan and is in great shape and form. He can’t go in looking for the knock out, but with the power he brings I believe he can win every fight by knock out. He is hitting so hard at the moment and his timing is spot on.

“Winning the first round is key, but Luke is hitting that hard he can destroy fighters on way to victory.”
