Butlers World title win could open British title passage for Conlan

JAMIE Conlan was a Paul Butler fan over the weekend and would have celebrated the Liverpool fighters IBF World bantamweight title win over Stuart Hall.

Conlan has been number 1 contender for Butler’s super flyweight British title and is over due a domestic dalliance, but with Butler eyeing up a World title shot the bout couldn’t be made.

Cyclone Promotions then pushed for the title to be vacated, but the BBBofC claimed Butler hadn’t officially moved up in weight and as a result was still the strap custodian.

However,  after a split decision victory over Hall on Saturday night, Butler will be forced to relinquish the title and Conlan should be first in line to challenge for the vacated belt.
