Burnett to fight Jason Booth in British title eliminator

BELFAST prospect Ryan Burnett has been afforded the opportunity to secure British title mandatory status.

The British Boxing Board of Control have ordered the exciting Adam Booth trained bantamweight and veteran Jason Booth trade leather in a British title eliminator.

If the pairs teams can’t agree terms by July 8 the bout will go the purse bids.

Burnett has a more immediate date occupying his mind as he fights at his old amateur stomping ground, The National Stadium on July 4, but an eliminator with Booth at this stage of his career is ideal.

Booth is a former British and COmmonwealth champion and has shared the ring with a host of big domestic name and will go into the bout on the back of a victory over 13-1 prospect Jason Cunningham.

However, Youth Olympic Gold medal winner Burnett is in a rich vein of knock out form, will relish the step up and will be delighted with the chance to cement his British title credentials.
