Booth fight will show me where I am at says Burnett
RYAN Burnett believes Jason Booth will provide the perfect litmus test as he moves to toward British title contention.
The Belfast prospect will fight the experienced English fighter in a British Bantamweight title eliminator in the Autumn. ‘Too Smooth’ is a former World and European title challenger, a two weight British and Commonwealth title challenger and has shared the ring with some big domestic and continental names.
In more recent times has taken the likes of Kiko Martinez, Lee Haskin and Willie Casey the distance and Burnett believes Booth will provide just the test he needs at this stage of his career.
“I have a British title eliminator against Jason Booth and he will show me where I am at,” Burnett, who is next out on the New Beginnings show on July 4 told the Belfast Newsletter.
“Booth has held several titles and we think we have got him at the right time.
“He has been there and done it and I will have to be on my game when we meet. I would love the British title but we are in no rush. We will just take our time and hopefully get to where we want to go,” he added.
