Big news for Belfast’s Ryan Burnett – Two new fight dates

It has been a busy twenty-four hours for Belfast bantamweight sensation Ryan Burnett who now has two new fight dates in his calender.

The 23 year old had been due to face Jason Booth [38(15)-13(3)] for the vacant British title on October 31st in Belfast, however this Hallowe’en night fight will now not be going ahead. This is due to Burnett being given the opportunity to box on the massive Boxnation October 10th card in the Manchester Arena.

Burnett [10(8)-0] will partially replace his training partner, Limerick’s Andy Lee, who was due to defend his WBO middleweight title on the card, but had to pull out due to a cut sustained by challenger Billy Joe Saunders.

Recently, Burnett has been in Texas, helping Jamie McDonnell prepare for his win over Tomoki Kameda.

This fight in Manchester will serve as a warm-up for Burnett ahead of his refixed British title shot against veteran Booth. The new fight date against the former British and Commonwealth champion is scheduled to be Monday November 23rd – and this Frank Warren-promoted bout will now take place in London at the swanky Mayfair Hilton Hotel.
