Belfast show dealt massive blow

The upcoming MHD ‘Another Level’ show at the Europa Hotel this Saturday night has been dealt a massive blow with the withdrawal of headline opponent Felix Lora [19(9)-20(1)-5].

Lora, of the Dominican Republic but based in Barcelona, was denied a visa by the UK Embassy in Madrid and therefore can not travel to Belfast for his proposed bout with local fan-favourite Paul Hyland Jr [12(4)-0].

The eight-round clash was due to be a step up in class for the crowd-pleasing lightweight who remains the bill-topper against new opponent Nelson Altamirano [10(6)-7(4)-2] of Nicaragua.

Promoter Mark Dunlop explained that “both myself, Paul Hyland Jr, and his team are gutted as we have put everything into training for this next step in his promising career.”

“Personally I find it hard to believe that, having a full eight weeks notice, that his team had not sorted this before as promised.”

“The show goes ahead and Paul Hyland Jnr will be topping the bill. Hylo is a very dedicated and loyal young man and these qualities to me mean everything. He will pick himself up and dust himself down and entertain you as always.

“The show goes on.”

The seven-fight dinner show at the Belfast hotel also includes Feargal McCrory, Tyrone McCullagh, Ronnie Clark, Ian Tims, Jay Byrne, and Carl McDonald.
