‘There must be no mirrors in his house’ joked one ringside viewer as Sean ‘Big Sexy’ Turner made his way into the ring in the National Stadium on Saturday night.
However, while you can question how sexy the big heavyweight is you certainly can’t question his big punching power.
Janis Ginters came to Dublin set to give the former Senior Champion somewhat of a test, but like all bar one of those that came before him the Lativan didn’t make see the final bell.
Indeed, Ginters, who has a respectable MMA past couldn’t get of his stool after round 1, making the ring girls redundant much to the disappointment of some in the crowd.
The visiting fighter tasted the power of Turner’s left hook with in the opening seconds and shipped some big punches throughout the round.
He looked out on his feet in the tail end of the round after a ‘Big Sexy’ combination and looked destined to be stopped, only for the Dubliner, who paid tribute to the late Paddy Hyland on the Dublin jersey he wore into the ring, to step off.
The end looked inevitable, but it came a bit soon than expected as the corner pulled their man out after the first stanza ended.
