Andy Lee Ireland’s biggest puncher? Rocky Road make Lee the greatest and Tennyson the latest

The Sun’s boxing podcast ‘Rocky Road: Rewind’ have voted Andy Lee Ireland’s greatest power puncher since WW2.

Irish featherweight champ Eric Donovan along with top trainers Paschal Collins and John Breen were invited on the show to discuss all things power punching.

All three voiced there opinions with regard to who they believe held or hold the biggest bang.

The current fighter and the two respected trainers picked their top three, all coming to different conclusions.

Donovan went for his former Irish amateur team mate Andy Lee as #1 as did Collins, while John Breen picked his former charge Neil ‘Sinky’ Sinclair.

Breen picked knockout specialist Darren Crobett as his #2 while Collins gave that position to ‘Sinky’ and Donovan chose current lightweight James Tennyson.

In third spot Breen picked Dave ‘Boy’ McAuley, Donovan Steve Collins and Collins chose his fighter Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan.

Show host and respected boxing writer Kevin Byrne’s top three consisted of Andy Lee, Barry McGuigan and Darren Sutherland in that order.
